Anna M. Kirby, 84 years old, of North Garland, Utah, died December 17th, 2017, at home surrounded by family.
She was born February 27th, 1933, in Logan, Cache County, Utah to the late Charles William McCulley and Diane Simone Otte. She attended Milford High School, in Milford, Utah, graduating as the valedictorian. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brigham Young University, graduating magna cum laude in 1955. She married Robert H. Kirby, of Garland, Utah, on October 24, 1955, in the Logan Temple, after which they settled in North Garland, Utah.
She was a teacher for thirty years, serving at Box Elder High School, Fielding Elementary and Bear River Middle School. She was an excellent seamstress and cook, and during the summer months passed these talents on to various 4-H Clubs. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served many times as a teacher, and as a counselor in her stake Young Women’s and Relief Society presidencies.
She is survived by her husband, Robert, and four children: Robert Drake Kirby, Diana Jill Kirby, Joyce Kirby Lloyd and Bradley Charles Kirby. She has five grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, December 21st, at Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home (111 N. 100 E.- Tremonton, UT). A second viewing will be held Friday, December 22nd, from 10:30—11:30 AM in the East Garland LDS Chapel (4375 W. 15600 N.- Fielding, UT), followed by the funeral at 12:00 PM and interment in the East Garland Cemetery.
