Beb Toru OkadaDecember 16, 1919 ~ March 14, 2017 (age 97)
Beb Toru Okada, 97, passed away peacefully at home on March 14, 2017. He was born on December 16, 1919 in Tremonton, Utah to Momoyo Kobayashi & Minori Okada. He lived in the Tremonton area his entire life and was a graduate of Bear River High School.
He served his country with the Army from December 1945 to January 1947. After he returned, he married Ila Aiko Yamada with whom he spent the next 67 years.
Beb along with his 3 brothers operated a crop farm in Penrose, Utah. He was faithful to his religion as a member of the Honeyville Buddhist Church and served many positions there.
He is survived by his wife, Ila; daughters, Trudy (Ryan) Kamisato, Connie (Phillip) Sakashita; sons, Byron and Craig; eight grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and sister-in-law’s, Marye Okada, Joanne Okada and Kiyoko Yamada.
Beb was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Kenge, Kunio, Tetsuji, Junzo and sister, Miyuki.
Funeral services for Beb will be held on Monday, March 20, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Honeyville Buddhist Temple (3945 W. 6900 N. Honeyville, UT). Viewings will be held on Sunday evening, March 19, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at the Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home (111 N. 100 E.- Tremonton, UT) and prior to the service at the Honeyville Buddhist Temple from 10:00 - 10:30 a.m. His interment will be at the Tremonton Riverview Cemetery.
