Brigham City - Rex Larson Scoffield, 64, passed away Sept. 15, 2015 from complications after surgery at the McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah surrounded by family and friends.

Rex was born April 11, 1951 to Roland and Georgia Scoffield. He grew up in Bear River City and graduated from Box Elder High School in 1969, where he was a member of the FFA and also participated in track and field.

He married Debbie Norr Kearl and they later divorced. They had one son together, Shiloh Rex Scoffield.

Rex was an avid trap shooter. He also enjoyed visiting with his friends at the B&B. But he was the happiest when he was with Shiloh and his family. They went deer hunting in the mountains and camped at the gravel pit in Plymouth. They would fish wherever he could drop a line.  He loved going down to watch the grandkids play football or just hang out on Sundays and play with the kids.

Rex was always tinkering with something, never sitting still. He was a very hard worker, often working more than one job. He worked at various jobs throughout his life, at the Crossroads for Dent Rich & sons as a mechanic, also for Taylor Steel, helping build Nucor. He then went to Thiokol where he was an inspector. The last few years he worked for Millard Refrigerated Services.

He is survived by his son, Shiloh (Stormy); 5 grandchildren, Robbi, Jaxton, Rykn, Roclynn, and Roland; 3 brothers, Gary Scoffield, Tremonton, Lyle Scoffield, Brigham, Jon (Wendy) Scoffield, Thatcher; 1 sister, Georgia Lee (Scott) Steffenhagen, Hyde Park.

Rex was preceded in death by his parents.

There will be a viewing Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home (111 N. 100 E. –Tremonton) from 6-8 pm.

There will be a graveside service held on Friday, September 25, 2015 at the Bear River City Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
