Sormbeav "Sam" SorthJanuary 15, 1962 ~ November 1, 2017 (age 55)
Sormbeav “Sam” Sorth, 55, passed away on November 1, 2017 in Tremonton, Utah. He was born and raised in Cambodia as a farmer. Sam left Cambodia to Thailand in 1978. Sam is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The LDS church sponsored him to come to the United States in 1980. He served an LDS mission to the Seattle, Washington area.
After his mission, he met the love of his life, Savoun Oum in 1986 in Tremonton. They were married on January 11, 1988. They made their home in Tremonton, where Sam worked for Honeyville Grain for 32 years.
Sam enjoyed playing and watching sports, especially basketball and football. He had a great love for his family. They were his life. More than anything, he enjoyed spending time with them and making them laugh at his many jokes. He was a man of God. He loved serving his family, friends, neighbors, and community members.
He is survived by his wife, Savoun Oum; children, Toney, Terry, and Vonary; two nephews, Sopol Oum and Sonvandara Oum; and many other friends and family.
Sam was preceded in death by Sun Kheav and Heang Sim.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to all of his family that has stayed by his side throughout the years.
Funeral services for Sam will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 1 p.m. at the Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home (111 N. 100 E.- Tremonton, UT 84337). The family will gather and meet friends and family from 12-12:45 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Interment in the Tremonton Riverview Cemetery.
