Gary Lynn Anderson, 70, passed away peacefully surrounded by the company of family on December 19, 2018 in Riverside, Utah. He was born on March 28, 1948 in Elwood, Utah to Fontella Hansen & Arlow Conley Anderson. Gary was raised in Elwood. He attended and graduated from Bear River High School.
After high school, Gary enlisted in the U.S. Army. Serving in Vietnam from March 12, 1969 until he was honorably discharged on March 11, 1975. He served as a Private E-5.
Gary married Roxie Ann Foglesong on September 10, 1976. They were later sealed in the Logan Temple on April 26, 2008. They were blessed with three children Misty, Brandie, and Shaun. Roxie passed away on May 25, 2002. Gary later married Nan Anderson on January 7, 2003.
Gary worked as a Machinist for ATK in Promontory, retiring in 2013. He loved to be outside and spent much of his free time snowmobiling, welding, machining, boating, working on cars, riding horses, dropping in on grandkids and taking pictures.
He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He held callings as a Primary Teacher, Sunday School Teacher, and second counselor of the High Priest Quorum.
Gary is survived by his wife, Nan Anderson; children: Misty (Scott) Thorsen, Brandie (Jason) Hess, Shaun Anderson, Peter (Julayne) Sallay, Elizabeth Sallay, Christopher Sallay, Scott (Carly) Sallay; sister, Connie (Cody) Roche; grandchildren: Nathan, Chelsea, Kendra, Shentana, Ashlee, Wyatt, Morgan, Jocelyn, Pason, Roselyn, Jailyn, Taelor, Keira, Sienna, Kassandra, Nathan, Chloe, Anastasia; great grandchildren: Luis and Emma; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Roxie Anderson; parents, Fontella & Arlow Anderson; brother, Reed Anderson; twin sister, Sherrie Chournos; and twin brothers, Clarence & Ephraim Anderson.
Funeral services for Gary will be held at 1 pm in the Belmont 1st Ward Chapel (16925 N. 5200 W.- Riverside, UT) on Friday, December 28, 2018. A viewing will be held prior to the service at the church from 10:30- 12:30 p.m. Interment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery.
