Annette Beus Christensen, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully returned to her Heavenly Father on August 17, 2025, at her home in Fielding, Utah. She was 84 years old.
Annette was born on March 7, 1941, in Ogden, Utah, to wonderful parents Jay Richard and Marjorie Bailey Beus. The oldest of five children, she grew up in Hooper, Utah, where she learned the value of hard work on the family farm and developed a lifelong love of people.
She graduated from Weber High School in 1959, where she sang in a traveling quartet managed by her father and accompanied by her sister Carroll. Annette later attended Utah State University, earning a degree in elementary education in 1963.
On June 8, 1962, Annette married the love of her life, Allan R Christensen. Together, they shared 63 years of love and devotion, building a legacy of faith, service, and family. Their early married years were spent in Hyrum, Utah, and Star Valley, Wyoming, where they created many fond memories. For 40 years, they lived in Fresno and Clovis, California, where Annette lovingly raised eight children (four sons and four daughters) with patience, strength, and humor. She formed many lifelong friendships during those years.
Later, Annette and Allan returned to Hooper, Utah, where Annette cared tenderly for her mother. In Annette’s final years, she and Allan made their home in Fielding, Utah.
A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Annette lived her life centered on her faith in the Savior, Jesus Christ. She served faithfully in countless callings, including Junior Sunday School President, Relief Society President, Seminary Teacher, Girls Camp Director, and more. She loved helping wherever she was needed, blessing countless lives with her kindness and selfless service.
Annette also served missions with Allan in the Mexico City Temple (2009–2010) and the Fresno California Mission (2014). She cherished her time serving as a temple worker in six temples: Oakland, Fresno, Mexico City, Ogden, Bountiful, and Brigham City.
Annette had a gift for making and keeping friends. She treasured her “forever friends” group from her school years, and everywhere she went, she drew people in with warmth and love.
Her talents and joys included singing, cooking, crocheting, walking, reading to her grandchildren, and playing a lively game of crooked rook. To her grandchildren and others, she was lovingly known as “GrammaNett.” She found joy in both the simple and the sacred and shared that joy generously with others.
Annette was preceded in death by her parents, Jay and Marjorie Beus; brother-in-law Steve Hodson; brother Robert Beus; sister-in-law Eve Beus; her son-in-law Roger Cain; and her great-grandson Alton Arcelus.
She is survived by her eternal companion, Allan R Christensen; her siblings Carroll (Tim) Thomas, (Lynette) Beus, MarJean (Lamar) Wright, and Brad Beus; her children Chad (Wendy) Christensen, Ann (Gary) Shaw, Burke (Michele) Christensen, Janee (Tim) Tietjen, Susan (Richard) Ashcraft, Aaron (Kristi) Christensen, Amy Cain, and Kip (Jessica) Christensen; 35 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren.
