Annice (Ann) Potter

June 5, 1933 — August 8, 2017

Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother Annice (Ann) Raye Benson Potter 84, passed away on August 8, 2017 in Brigham City, Utah. She was born on June 5, 1933 to Karl Eliason Benson and Margaret June Reese Benson in Logan, Utah.

She graduated from Logan High and then attended Utah State University where she graduated with a degree in Home Economics. While there, she met Don Potter and the rest as they say is history! They were married for Time and All Eternity in the Logan LDS Temple on August 1, 1955. Their love story has lasted for the past 63 years and will continue for eternity.

Ann was a skilled seamstress, who sewed for her children, made quilts, pajamas, and was a master at machine embroidery.  There was not a sewing project she couldn’t take on or figure out. She shared her ability with others by teaching many sewing classes and assisting others in learning her craft.  She worked for Box Elder School District in the Adult Education Program for 22 years where she assisted others in gaining credit toward high school graduation.

Mom was involved most of her adult life in the Tremonton Civic Club.  She loved her associations and activities over the years with the ladies in her club.  She and Don were die-hard Aggies and were members of the Old Main Society. They were season ticket holders of USU Basketball for over 40 years.  All her children are graduates of USU, as are six of her grandchildren thus far.

Ann was an active member of the LDS Church and a member of the Tremonton 6th Ward, where she served in many positions, especially in callings related to music.

Mom was a truly remarkable woman. She loved her family fiercely and unconditionally. She cherished each grandchild, and great-grandchild and rejoiced when a new baby joined our growing family. She is a beautiful person, a one of a kind, and will be greatly missed. We delight at the reunion that is taking place in heaven at her return there.

She is survived by her husband Don, her children Denise Cooper, Val (Nancy) Potter, Teri (Alan) Burke, and Kent (Laurel) Potter, 13 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

There will be a viewing on Sunday August 13 from 6 to 8 pm at Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton, UT. Funeral services will be at the Tremonton 6th Ward Stake Center 660 North 300 East, Tremonton, UT; Monday, August 14 at 11 am.  A viewing will be from 9:30 to 10:30 am before the service.
