February 21, 1986 — February 23, 2026

Tremonton

Anthony Michael Roring, age 40, passed away at home in Tremonton, Utah on Monday February 23, 2026 after battling Leukemia for many years. Dr. Couriel, Anthony’s transplant doctor, said no one in his 30 years of practice has battled harder than Anthony. Anthony was born on February 21, 1986 in Tremonton, Utah the son of John Floyd Roring and Tammy Boyle. He grew up in Tremonton with his brothers John Lee, Joseph, Bradley, and sisters Stacey and Nicole. Anthony is especially close to his McDermott cousins and his nieces and nephews.

He attended North Park Elementary School, Alice C Harris Intermediate School, Bear River Middle and Bear River High School, and graduated from Utah State University. He married Brittany Lewis and they had three wonderful children, Jack, Kevin, and Cody. They are now divorced. He later received a Master’s Degree in Mathematics and Statistics from Georgetown University in Washington DC.

As a youth Anthony earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He served as a missionary sharing the gospel in the Russia Moscow mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from July 2005 to July 2007. It was a challenging mission where he learned a lot, and he met people that he will love forever. The gospel of Jesus Christ has always been important to him. He served in several positions in the church and was faithful in all his callings. Each weekend when his boys came to Tremonton, they studied the scriptures together.

Anthony is athletic and enjoyed soccer, basketball, skiing, and pickleball, but most of all he enjoyed playing with his three boys. He became close friends with his teammates on the Bear River High School soccer team and the coaches including Jesse Esquivel. He loved watching and attending RSL soccer games. Music was important to him. He found solace listening to music and played guitar, ukulele, and trombone. He also enjoyed video gaming with his boys, brothers, and cousins. He collected many board games and played them with family and friends especially if someone else would read the instructions. He was a real competitor.

Following graduation from Utah State, they moved to Falls Church, Virginia to begin working for Ernst and Young (EY) as a statistician in Washington DC. Two months after his first child was born, he was diagnosed with Leukemia. He received intensive chemotherapy and radiation treatments followed by a bone marrow transplant on December 12, 2012. The bone marrow donor is Kevin Martens, a young man in Germany. We met Kevin here, and his parents Ronald and Marina in Germany enjoying time with them. Everyone thought Anthony was cured, however, ten years later the cancer returned. He moved back to Utah to be closer to family. After chemotherapy he received another bone marrow transplant on February 7, 2023. Unfortunately, the cancer returned again in 2025. He couldn’t have fought any harder. He loved his family and pushed himself beyond his limits for his boys. Subsequent chemotherapies did not stop the cancer and he left us on February 23, 2026.

During the cancer fight in Virginia and in Utah, the Ernst and Young Company, and particularly his immediate co-workers Nicole Miller, Ed Cohen, Shira Spalter, Cathy Li, Charlie Qing, and Ryan Petska gave him great support and the company health insurance covered the horrendous medical expenses. They were a real blessing in his life and the lives of his family. We are deeply grateful to them.

During his many battles with cancer, Anthony was always kind. He was polite to medical staff in trying situations and thanked them for the service they provided. He learned patience, perseverance, and reliance on his Savior Jesus Christ during this long struggle.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents on both sides, John and Corinne Roring, Lee and Lola Boyle, as well as two aunts Cindy McDermott and Anita Boyle. He is survived by his children Jack, Kevin, and Cody Roring, his parents John Floyd and Tammy Roring, his siblings John Lee (Erin) Roring of Clinton, Utah; Stacey (John) Jensen of Ridgecrest, California; Nicole Jensen of Clinton, Utah; Joseph (Sarah) Roring of Billings, Montana; and Bradley (Caroline) Roring of Roy, Utah and numerous nieces and nephews.
