Boyd Willard Parker

May 7, 1936 — May 8, 2026

Tremonton

After 90 years of hard work and service, Boyd Willard Parker, our wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend peacefully left this mortal life on May 8, 2026, and rushed into the arms of his beloved wife, Arline, daughters DaNise & DaNeel, as well as other loved ones on the other side. Boyd was born on May 7, 1936, to Earl Jones Parker and Anna Margaret Stauffer. He was hardworking, funny, dependable, smart, loving, kind, giving, and humble. More than anything, Boyd was known for making people feel loved and happy. He genuinely wanted that for everyone around him.

Boyd graduated from South Cache High School and later attended Utah State University where he earned his bachelor's degree in civil engineering. During his younger years, Boyd was active in baseball, football, wrestling, and track. He also worked alongside his father on the family farm and milked cows every morning from the age of eight until he was eighteen. Those early experiences shaped the incredible work ethic and determination that would define his life.

Shortly after meeting the love of his life at the Box Elder County Fair, Boyd married Arline Laub on Friday, July 13, 1956, in Tremonton, Utah. They were later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple. Together they lived in Logan, Salt Lake City, and eventually settled in Tremonton where they raised their family and built a beautiful life together.

Boyd worked many engineering jobs throughout his career but spent the majority of his professional life working as a civil engineer for Thiokol where he retired in 1999. He was incredibly intelligent and respected both his knowledge and his ability to solve problems. Boyd was also known as one of the hardest workers around.

Boyd loved being outdoors and staying active. He enjoyed golfing, hiking, hunting, fishing, traveling, games, a good ball game and sitting by the fire with family and friends. He especially loved taking care of his yard, garden, and apple trees and worked so hard in making everything around him beautiful. Some of his grandchildren’s favorite memories were going on adventures with Grandpa, hearing his stories, and being greeted with excitement the moment they walked through the door. He always had candy nearby, especially black licorice, and could never wait to offer his grandchildren a treat or something to drink, and they quickly learned they better accept the offer, or he wouldn’t stop offering.

Boyd had an incredible memory and could recall detailed stories from his childhood and life experiences that fascinated everyone around him. Everyone who knows Boyd will deeply miss his laugh, his wisdom, his stories, and the steady love and happiness he brought into every room.

Boyd was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings throughout his life. He especially enjoyed serving with the scouts and taking them on backpacking and hiking trips to the Uinta's, serving in the Sunday School, and several bishopric callings. Most memorable was serving with his whole heart in the bishopric with Bishop Isaacson and Rick. He loved the friendships he built within the Tremonton 6th Ward. Boyd and Arline served an LDS mission together in Mesa, Arizona and later served as ordinance workers in the Logan and Brigham City temples.

Together, Boyd and Arline loved attending Aggie basketball games, going to the Utah Symphony, camping, golfing, and he loved traveling with Arline, friends and family. Together they traveled to all 50 states and created countless memories with those they loved most. His favorite place to travel most was the Lawrence Welk Resort in San Diego California.

Boyd was happiest when he had Arline by his side or at least in the other room and when he was surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He loved a ball game if someone was there to sit and watch it with him. Nothing brought him more joy than being with his family. We will forever cherish the memories, traditions, adventures, and unconditional love he gave so freely.

Boyd was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Arline Parker; his parents, Earl Jones Parker and Anna Margaret Stauffer; his twin daughters, DaNise Parker and DaNeel Norr; son-in-law, Jeff Bywater; sisters, Idella Peterson and Anna Hammer, brother Reed Parker and many other cherished family members and friends.

He is survived by his children Alan (Stephanie) Parker, Jill Bywater, and Jerian (KC) Merritt; (Curtis Norr), 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and sister Pauline Jeppsen, who will continue to honor and cherish his memory.
