Brandon Cole Ficklin, our beloved son, brother, father, nephew, uncle, cousin, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully in his home on August 1, 2026, from heart failure while recovering from an extended hospital stay for complications related to diabetes.

Brandon was born on March 3, 1972 in Tremonton, Utah to loving parents Douglas and Wendi Ficklin. As a young boy he lived in Annandale, Virginia and Garland and Tremonton Utah. As the oldest sibling, he was a fierce protector of his younger sisters and brother, but also terrorized them often.

He graduated from Bear River High School in 1990 and played the saxophone in the high school band. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a humble disciple of Jesus Christ as demonstrated by his love and kindness to all people, especially those in need and the less privileged. He was accepting of everyone and always offered friendship, encouragement, or a helping hand.

Brandon had certain challenges that contributed to many personal hardships, which he endured with courage. He was an independent spirit and lived his life in compliance with the ‘Rules of Brandon!’.

He loved rock music, attending concerts with friends, going to movies with family members and friends and Diet Mountain Dew. He was a devoted fan of the Minnesota Vikings and BYU Cougars, proudly exhibiting a “Y” tattoo as a symbol of his Cougar loyalty. His sense of humor was unmatched, and his quick wit and loud laugh will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Brandon always expressed his deep and sincere appreciation to those who helped him with his personal needs. Though Brandon's journey was not always an easy one, his life will remain as an eternal blessing to those who loved him. We will remember his generous heart, his individuality, and the love he gave and received throughout his life.

He is survived by his parents, Douglas and Wendi Ficklin (Tremonton), his sons Gavin (Jewel) Ficklin (Garland) and Michael Ficklin (Garland), sisters Aimee Earl (Lehi), Courtnie (Matt) Redd (Pleasant View), brother Jonathan (Karen) Ficklin (Brigham City) and grandson Douglas Cole Ficklin (Garland).

He is preceded in death by his grandparents George and Arlene Ficklin and Max and Betty Lou Walker, as well as certain dear friends that he loved.

A viewing and celebration of Brandon’s life will be held on Saturday, August 8th at the Rudd Funeral Home in Tremonton (111 N. 100 E.- Tremonton). The viewing will be from 9:30 – 10:30 and the Celebration of Life will be at 11:00. Interment will be in the Brigham City cemetery.
