Byron (Brad) Bradley Kasperek

Byron Bradley Kasperek (Brad) passed away at age 77 on October 18, 2022 at his home.  He was born March 8, 1945 in Wisconsin to Joe and Marge Kasperek.

Brad married Kathie Kasperek on September 12, 1970 in Wendover, Nevada.  He lived in Utah and Wisconsin during his lifetime.

Brad received a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Utah. Brad was retired and served in the Navy.

Brad and his wife owned a successful Iris business called Zebra Gardens in Elwood. He loved hybridizing all kinds of flowers, but especially Irises. He won 17 awards for his Irises and won the Hybridizer’s Award for the United States, because of his knowledge in genetic crossing. He has an Iris named after him called the Bradley Badger. Brad and his wife also enjoyed dancing together for many years and were known for their dancing abilities.

Brad belonged to the Iris Society in Salt Lake City and Logan.

He is survived by his wife Kathie Kasperek, many family members, and especially his beloved 4-legged fur babies.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Donna Buttles and Judy DeWitt; his brothers, Greg Kasperek and Ronny Kasperek.
