Carter Crismon Rich, 83, passed away on February 4, 2018 in Tremonton, Utah. He was born on January 11, 1935 in Garland, Utah to Arthur Denton Rich and Sarah Marguerite Rich. He married Peggy Christensen on March 22, 1958. They had 2 children and later divorced. He then married Elaine E. Rich on January 2, 1981 in Elko, Nevada.
He graduated from Bear River High School, then attended The University of Utah. He had worked at Dent Rich and Sons Crossroads Service and Thiokol Corp. He retired from Thiokol in January of 1998.
Carter served in the National guard. He received multiple service awards from the Tremonton Fire Department.
He loved the Fire Department, sports, trap shooting, golf, and snowmobiling. He obtained his pilot’s license, and enjoyed spending time in Wendover, traveling, and being with family.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Carter is survived by his wife, Elaine Rich; son, Roger (Susy) Rich; daughter, Nancy (Clark) Weidman; stepchildren, Lynn (Kari) Perry, Lyle (Carrie) Perry, Karen-deceased (David) Misrasi; 22 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, John David Rich, and an infant brother; stepdaughter Karen Misrasi; stepson, Kent Perry, and 3 grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 9, 2018, at the Tremonton Stake Center (660 N 300 E, Tremonton) starting at 11 a.m. with a viewing before from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. There will be a viewing for Carter on Thursday, February 8, 2018, at Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home (111 N 100 E Tremonton) from 5-7 p.m.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the Tremonton Volunteer Fire Department, Bear River Valley Care Center, CNS Hospice, and Peggy Tydeck who was always there when we called.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Tremonton Fire Department, or the Tremonton Food Pantry.
