She was born on August 2, 1964, in Tremonton, Utah, to Gwen Nelson Burton and William Darrell Burton Jr. She grew up in Fielding alongside her nine brothers and sisters.

Charlene spent her career as an accountant, bringing dedication, precision, and integrity to her work. She began her career in tax accounting with Ernst & Young in Long Beach, California. She later returned to Utah, where she worked for Traveler, Winn, and Mower.

Later she moved with her family to Beaver Dam and began working as the controller at JM Mechanical in Cache Valley. She retired in February 2026.

Outside of work, Charlene enjoyed football, especially following the USU Aggies, Colts, Broncos, and Chiefs. She also loved bird-watching, vegetable gardening, and watching British crime dramas. Recently, she had been learning to play Rook.

Those who knew Charlene will remember her for her intelligence, work ethic, and ability to Focus and Finish (FaF).
