Charlette Meservy

September 6, 1947 — February 7, 2024

Charlette Litchford Meservy returned to our Heavenly Father February 7, 2024.  Charlette was born September 6, 1947 and was one of 8 children born to Charles Daniel Litchford Sr and Ruth Snow Litchford.

She attended Deweyville Elementary School, Bear River Junior High School, and later graduated from Bear River High School.  After high school, she attended Utah State University then later became a licensed cosmetologist.

After receiving her license in cosmetology, she moved to California and worked at the North Island Naval Air Station and as a special education aide in the Chula Vista School District.  While in California, She met her beloved husband Dale Meservy and they were married in the Salt Lake Temple.

Charlette was always busy. Even while raising her family, like her mother, she was an active “Scouter”.  Along with serving in many positions in scouting, she was one of a few women at the time to lead a Wood badge course and later she received the Scouting honor of Silver Beaver.

Charlette always joked that she was one of the oldest members of Jazzercise.  She started attending while in California and continued her participation upon her return to Utah.

At retirement, she and her husband returned to her home town of Deweyville and, of course, had to be involved in service. She volunteered at the Bear River Valley Museum and various committees in the town of Deweyville.  She and her husband Dale were Grand Marshals in the Deweyville town parade.  In 2014 she was honored with being named the Tremonton Leader’s Citizen of the Year award as being known as Deweyville’s Celebration Queen.

Charlette was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various positions.  She served as Relief Society President, Chorister, Primary teacher, Ministering sister, and a temple worker but her favorite callings were those of Mother and Grandmother.

She is survived by her husband Dale, sons London (Heather), Ty (Stephanie) brothers Dan (Nancy), Mike (Pam), Larry (Jody), David (Kenna), Jeff (Jeannie), and Sisters Madean (Jim) Bisch, Pat (Garry) Bessinger and Vicky (Carl) Haas, and 5 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother Ruth Snow Litchford and father Charles Daniel Litchford Sr
