Clyde Ray Coombs, 91, passed away May 10, 2025, at the Blacksmith Fork Assisted Living Facility in Hyrum, Utah, where he has lived for the past two years.
He was born December 20, 1933, in LaJara, Colorado, to Clyde Edward and Cora Frederiksen Coombs. He moved to Tremonton, Utah, at a young age, where he attended school and graduated from Bear River High. He served a mission in Germany, he served two years in the Army, and graduated from college as an elementary school teacher.
He married Maxine Johnson on April 7, 1958, in the Logan LDS Temple. Together they had three sons. In 1969 he and his family moved to the Canal Zone in Panama, where they lived for 18 years before moving back to Utah.
He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Ray enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and carving. He loved being with his family.
In 2002 his wife Maxine passed away. He married Jeaneen Hill on January 14, 2005.
Ray was preceded in death by his wife Maxine, his parents, his son Brad and two sisters Norma Fife and Margaret Cazier.
He is survived by his wife Jeaneen Coombs; brother Lee (Judy) Coombs; two sons Ferron (Michelle) Coombs and Wade (Michelle) Coombs; four of Jeaneen’s daughters Connie (Rod) Arbon, Betty Jo (Carl) Spencer, Bonnie (Bob) Templeman and Penny (Evan) Bankhead; many grandkids, great grandkids, and great-great grandkids that knew him as grandpa.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 11 A.M. Viewings will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025, from 6-8 P.M. and prior to the service from 9:30-10:30 A.M. All services will be held at Rudd Funeral Home- Tremonton (111 N 100 E- Tremonton).
Interment will take place at the Riverside Cemetery.
