Dale Moroni Woodruff

October 11, 1936 — December 26, 2025

Tremonton

Dale Moroni Woodruff, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on December 26, 2025, at the age of 89 at his home in East Tremonton.

Dale was born on October 11, 1936, in Tremonton, Utah. He was the second of four children born to Eliza Lundberg and Leland Owen Woodruff. He graduated from Bear River High School. He married Renee Shaw on March 19, 1958, for time and all eternity in the Logan LDS Temple. Together, they had five children.

Dale graduated from Utah State University with a degree in Manufacturing Engineering. He worked for Thiokol for many years, but his true love was always farming. He was an exceptionally hard worker, putting in a full 9–5 day and then farming late into the evenings and on weekends.

Dale was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After retiring, he and his wife enjoyed serving together as temple workers in the Brigham City Temple.

Dale loved to hunt, fish, and camp. The outdoors and the mountains were where he loved to be. He spent countless hours fishing with his kids and grandkids at Bear Lake and hiking mountain trails, sharing his many stories along the way. Those experiences became cherished family traditions that continue today through his children and grandchildren.

He loved his daily morning meetings with his friends at JC’s. Dale loved to tell stories to anyone willing to listen. You could count on at least some parts of each tale being true. He had a gift for humor and enjoyed sharing good jokes, including the occasional off-color one. He had a jovial, happy personality and never missed a chance to strike up a conversation with anyone he crossed paths with.

The grandkids will always remember his Friday treat days at Kent’s, when he’d take them for something sweet. Whenever the grandkids came over, he’d pull out a handful of Airheads he kept just for them.

Dale is survived by his five children: Barbara (Kevin) Vadnais, Syracuse; DelRay (Tonya) Woodruff, Tremonton; Darrel Todd (Linda) Woodruff, Tremonton; Dan (Janette) Woodruff, Smithfield; and Kami (Bryon) Anderson, Murray; and his brother, Gary Woodruff.

Dale was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense joy and pride.

Dale was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, his brother, Ivan Woodruff; his sister, Colleen Woodruff; and his grandson, Zachary Daniel Woodruff.
