Doyle Wilde

November 19, 1947 — July 15, 2025

Doyle Wilde, 77, our beloved father, grandpa, brother and friend, passed away July 15, 2025, peacefully at his daughter's home after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born November 19, 1947, in Coalville, UT to Layton and Irene Wilde. He married Carolyn Shaw Wilde on December 1, 1973, in the Salt Lake temple. Together they had five children, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was raised in Wanship, UT and after marrying the love of his life, moved to Kearns, UT and eventually settled in Bountiful, UT.

Doyle was a life-long active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved the Lord and lived a life of service. He held many callings throughout his life and always said, “Wherever I am called to serve, I will go.” He served an LDS mission in the Eastern States Mission in his youth and would later serve multiple service missions with his wife and continued to do so after her passing.

He loved family history work and enjoyed serving in the temple. He was a faithful record keeper and kept a daily journal and studied the scriptures until his passing.

He had a Christ-like gift of charity and truly loved those he served. He was devoted to using his talents to bless the lives of others. He had many skills ranging from mechanics and carpentry to concrete work, of which he used to serve the Lord, his country, his family and friends.

He served in the Utah Army National Guard for 23 years, active and reserve duty, where he was a helicopter mechanic, generator and general mechanic based out of Ft. Douglas and West Jordan, UT.

He also worked for Primary Children's Medical Center as an engineer until he retired in 2010.

He made friends quickly and many became life-long friends. He had a special gift of making everyone around him feel loved and accepted. He will truly be missed.

Doyle is survived by his children Ada Rochelle Nielsen, Spencer (Monica) Wilde, Megan (Todd) Walker, Wendy Wilde, along with eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his father Layton Wilde, mother Irene Spackman Wilde, his wife Carolyn Shaw Wilde and his son Cody Wilde.
