Ellen Erickson

December 21, 1941 — September 17, 2016

Ellen Main Cook Erickson of Tremonton, Utah, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2016, in Ogden, Utah.  She is now free from the discomfort of lung cancer and pneumonia.

She was born in Brigham City, Utah, on December 21, 1941, to Merwin B. Cook and Dorothy Ellen Cook.  She had one brother and two sisters.

Ellen married Arlo P. Erickson on March 19, 1960.  He preceded her in death on November 27, 2000.   They are finally together again, out enjoying the golf course.  They had three children, Karine E. Erickson, Penny L. Summers and Mitch A. Erickson.

Together with Arlo she spent many hours out on the golf course and spending time with their dog Bruno.  She enjoyed working in her yard and keeping her car clean.  She worked for many years at Wurlitzer in Logan, Utah and spent 25+ years working at La-Z-Boy in Tremonton, Utah before retiring.

In the past few years she has spent much of her time with her Daughter Penny in California, she loved the beach, and has enjoyed many vacations with her.  Her favorite vacation was traveling to Mount Rushmore through Yellowstone Park.  She also loved Zip Lining in Canada.  When she wasn’t with Penny she enjoyed spending time with her three beautiful grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Arlo, daughter Karine and a sister Ann E. Kochendorfer.

She is survived by her daughter, Penny Summers (Eppie and daughter Vanessa), Los Angeles, California; Mitch Erickson (Kelli), West Haven, Utah;

Grandchildren, Jake, Rylan and Macy Erickson; sister, Marylyn Hastey (John), and Brother, Don Cook (Irene).

Graveside services will be held at the Elwood Cemetery on Saturday, September 24, 2016, at 12 pm.  Following the service there will be a celebration of her life at Ellen’s home.  Per Ellen’s request there will be no viewing.

In lieu of flowers please attend in casual attire (jeans) wearing red, navy blue and/or stripes and head out to the golf course and hit a few balls in her honor.
