Elma Bell

August 18, 1927 — November 20, 2017

Elma John Bell, 90, passed away on November 20, 2017 at the Bear River Valley Care Center in Tremonton, Utah. She was born on August 18, 1927 in Portage, Utah to Noah James John & Esther Elmeda Hall. She lived her life in Portage. She graduated from Bear River High School. On May 14, 1947, she married William Arvel Bell Jr. in Ogden, Utah. He passed away on February 13, 1991.

Elma worked as the Postmaster at the Portage Post Office from August 1979 until her retirement in September of 1992.

She is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and a proud member of the PLOP or Purple Ladies of Portage.

Elma is survived by her children: Gary, Grant (Susan), Darrell, Brent, Debra (Curtis), and Janice (Nolan); and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; grandsons: Billy Bell, Beau Bell, Brodie Grant; great grandchildren: KC Wayne Bell and Madalyn Bell; and great great granddaughter: Jinnevieve Allen.

Funeral services for Elma will be held in the Portage LDS Chapel (8910 W. 25800 N. Portage, UT) on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Viewings will be held on Monday, November 27, 2017 at Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home (111 N. 100 E., Tremonton, UT) from 6-8 p.m. and on Tuesday, prior to the funeral service from 9:30- 10:30 a.m. Interment in the Portage Cemetery.
