Gael Cutler Rhodes, loving wife, mother, grandmother, & great-grandmother passed away peacefully at her home on January 21, 2019. She was born on December 6, 1937 in Tremonton, Utah and is the daughter of Lamar S. & Elizabeth Garbanati Cutler.
While waitressing at The Crossroads Café, she met and married Ross Neil Rhodes, and on March 20, 2019 they would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary together.
Gael is leaving behind her husband and three sons. Reed (Teresa) of Morgan, Utah, Ralph (Shelley), and Ron (Lynda) of East Garland, Utah. Sisters; Nadine Smith and Luana Badovinac of Brigham City, Utah. Mom also says goodbye to her greatest treasures- 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Although we will miss her, she is re-united with her parents, brothers, (Gary, Lyone, Marlon, & Vernon) sisters, (Charmane & Theo) and many other family members that she loves dearly.
Gael was no stranger to hard work. She held a number of jobs, all of which she excelled at, but above all she adored working for Mark Jensen at the ASCS office for eighteen years before she retired for health reasons.
As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, she served in many different positions within her ward and stake. Gael’s greatest joy came from serving others. She always went above and beyond in everything she did.
Not a day went by that Gael did not pick up her embroidery and create beautiful pieces that will be treasured by each individual that was lucky enough to receive one. In addition to her sewing skills, making chocolates were a holiday favorite. She also loved creating beautiful scrapbooks for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Mom has some very special friends who she would like to thank for the breakfasts, the rides to Idaho, and more than one gab session; she will miss each of you.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the Fielding Utah Stake Center (4375 W. 15600 N.) at 2 p.m. A viewing will be held prior to the funeral service from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Interment will be at the East Garland Cemetery.
The Rhodes family would like to thank Intermountain Hospice Care for their compassion and professionalism and for the many others who attended to our sweet Mom.
