It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear father, Gary Williams Baldwin, who left us peacefully on August 19,2025. He was a devoted family man, a loyal friend, and someone whose love for the great outdoors was matched only by the love he showed to those around him.
Dad was born on September 16, 1949. Dad grew up with a passion for adventure. From a young age, he found joy in the simple pleasures of nature, spending countless hours hunting and fishing. Whether it was the thrill of a crisp morning in the woods or the quiet patience of waiting by the water’s edge, he cherished every moment and shared his passion with anyone who would join him. He taught us the value of perseverance, respect for nature, and the importance of taking time to appreciate life’s quiet moments.
Many of our fondest memories are of him telling stories around a campfire, teaching us how to cast a line, or tracking deer through autumn forests. His laughter and wisdom will echo in our hearts forever.
Dad is survived by his daughters, JoAnn (Doug) Sayama and Jennifer (Tyler) Chadaz. Stepchildren Melanie (Todd), Jim, Kelly(Holly), and Katrina, multiple grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Dad was preceded in death by his wife Renee, parents, Norman (Charlene) Baldwin and Cresey (Robert) Bouchie, Brother Terry, and Daughter Jackie. His legacy will live on through the stories we tell, the traditions we keep, and the love of the outdoors he inspired in so many.
We invite friends and family to join us for a graveside on August 30, 2025, at 10 A.M. at Wellsville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you spend a moment outdoors, in honor of our Dad, doing something that he loved. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will remain with us, wherever the water runs clear and the forests stand tall.
A Poem for Dad From your daughters, with love:
In quiet woods where sunlight falls, And gentle rivers flow, We feel your spirit by our side, Wherever we may go. You taught us how to cast a line, To listen to the breeze, To cherish every moment spent Among the whispering trees. Your laughter echoes in our hearts, Your wisdom guides us still, We carry on your legacy, Your dreams we strive to fill. Though days are sometimes shadowed now, And tears are gently shed, We find you in the world you loved— The wild, the green, the red. So as we walk these paths again, Or watch the water gleam, We hold you close within our hearts, Forever in our dreams.
