Gay (Higley) Billings

Gay Higley Billings, aged 89, peacefully passed away on July 12, 2026, in Tooele, Utah. Born on September 30, 1936, in Brigham City, Utah, she was the daughter of Rhoda Mary Stokes and Lawrence (Brig) Higley.

As the second oldest among four brothers and three sisters, Gay embraced her role with warmth and responsibility. She graduated from Box Elder High School and married Billy Dan Billings on January 18, 1955. Together, they embarked on a journey that took them from Utah to France, where Bill was stationed with the Air Force, and where their first child, Billie Lynn, was born. They were blessed with three more children: Robert Dan, Gene Dale, and Mark James.

Settling first in Utah and California, the family eventually made Tremonton their home in the early 1970s and spent the majority of their years there. Gay is lovingly remembered by her sons Gene (Debbie) and Mark, brother Rex, sisters Arla and Janice, six grandsons, and 11 great-grandchildren.

She joins those who predeceased her, including her parents, husband Bill, brothers Guy, Dennis, Buddy, daughter Billie Lynn, son Robert Dan, and granddaughter Angela.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at 1 P.M. at Rudd Funeral Home- Tremonton (111 N 100 E- Tremonton). Interment to follow at the Riverview Cemetery.

The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to the staff, at Our House Assisted Living in Tooele, particularly the compassionate care provided by the CNAs and hospice nurse Jordan Rydalch.
