Tremonton

Grant Alma "Bud" Theurer, beloved husband, father, grandfather, farmer, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home on May 28, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was 82 years old.

Bud was born on September 19, 1943, in Tremonton, Utah, to Alma Grant and Sadie Stokes Theurer. He was born and raised on the family farm, a place that remained central to his life and legacy. He eventually took over the operation of the farm where he raised his family.

A lifelong resident of Tremonton, Bud graduated from Bear River High School, where he was actively involved in FFA, wrestling, football, and numerous school activities.

Following high school, Bud faithfully served in the Northern California Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Upon returning home, he attended Utah State University, where he earned a degree in Agricultural Education. While at Utah State, he was a member of the wrestling team.

On July 1, 1966, Bud married the love of his life, Bonnie Hall, in the Logan LDS Temple. They later welcomed one girl and five boys into their family. Each learning the value that hard work solves most problems.

Bud was known for his quiet strength, playful personality, and storytelling. He took great pride in his farm. Bud loved being in the outdoors with his family whether it was Uinta backpacking trips, hunting, or horse rides.

Bud served on the board of the Bear River Canal Company and USDA Soil Conservation. He was an avid Bear River fan receiving the Distinguished Alumni award. He attended hundreds of sporting events supporting his children and grandchildren. He held many church callings throughout his life with his favorites being nursery and taking the scouts backpacking into the Uintas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alma Grant and Sadie Stokes Theurer, sisters Peggy Showell, Joan Ramsdell, and Katie Theurer. He is survived by his sister, Sharon Nilson, his wife, Bonnie, and children; Julie (Jared) Miller, Brad (Jami) Theurer, Brian (Mary) Theurer, Brady Theurer, Jeff Theurer and Jared (Marnee) Theurer, 18 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren with one on the way.
