Harold (Sonny) Wadsworth

July 19, 1923 — September 17, 2017

Harold Ronald (Sonny) Wadsworth, Husband, Dad, Grandfather, and Friend left this earthly existence, September 17, 2017 surrounded by family.

He was born July 19, 1923 in Fielding, Utah to Harold Orson Wadsworth and Hazel Josephine Seager.

He spent his childhood in West Fielding on the family farm. As a young man, he worked on a ranch in Yost, Utah

He married Roena Roe on April 8, 1951 in Elko, NV. Together they had two children: Betty Elaine and Ronald Brent. Dad worked at the U&I Sugar Factory, and then most of his life in the propane business managing the Cal Gas Company in Tremonton.

He loved his family, horses, and the outdoors. He was a member of the Pony Chariot Racing Club, he also ran horses in the Bear River Cutter Association.

After moving to Riverdale, Utah, he served as the president of the Shady Grove Homeowners Association for nine years.

Dad loved being with people, and as a storyteller they loved being with him. If you could count friends as wealth, Dad would have been a rich man.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, his daughter Betty (Dale “Shorty”) Roderick, his son Brent Wadsworth and Todd Wells, two grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Elaine (John) Thometz and Florence (Ervin) Peterson, and an infant baby brother.

“Dad, you will be profoundly missed.”

Our family would like to thank the South Ogden Post-Acute facility, Drs, Heaton and Cloward, and Intermountain Hospice. Thanks to Rudd Funeral Home for their kindness and caring during our difficult time.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 22, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the Garland Cemetery. A viewing will be held prior to the graveside from 11:30- 1:15 p.m. at the Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home (111 N. 100 E.- Tremonton, UT).
