James (Jim) Allen Ririe

December 13, 1934 — September 12, 2023

James (Jim) Allen Ririe passed away on September 12, 2023 at his home in Deweyville, Utah.

Jim was born in Magrath, Alberta, Canada on December 13, 1934 to Morris Elmer Ririe and Margaret Annie Watson. He was the youngest of 7 children.

Jim attended primary and secondary school in Magrath, and then moved to Utah to attend BYU. It was there he met Sonia (Toni) Marguerite Petersen, who became his wife on April 8, 1955. They had three children.

In the early days of their marriage, Jim worked on oil rigs; as a car mechanic; and in farming. He started working at Thiokol Chemical Corporation in 1959, and stayed with them until his retirement in 1992.

Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, archery, and helping out friends and neighbors whenever needed. He and Toni enjoyed traveling in their RV’s all over the western US and cruising to many places including Europe, Central and South America. Several of their trips included family members as well.

Jim is survived by his children, Joyce Streeper, Dan Ririe, Kathy (Tom) Conner; one sister, Joan (Tommy) Karren; 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Friends may visit Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home (111 N 100 E- Tremonton) on Friday, September 22, 2023 from 6-8 P.M. There will be a graveside service held on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Noon at the Deweyville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a contribution to the cure, treatment and prevention of Alzheimer’s.
