Jerry Lee Garren, 75, passed away September 20, 2026, at his home in Tremonton, Utah. He was born March 11, 1951, in Stella, Missouri, to Don Garren and Betty Bowman.

During his life, Jerry lived in various places. From 1969-1985 Jerry lived in Granby, MO; 1985-1988 he lived in Lincolnton, NC and from 1988 to present he lived in Tremonton, UT.

He graduated from East Newton High School in MO and completed some college courses.

Jerry began his 34-year career with La-Z-Boy in 1972 as an upholsterer in Neosho, Missouri. His career later took him to Lincolnton, North Carolina, where he became Plant Superintendent of Burris Industries, a La-Z-Boy subsidiary. He ultimately served as Vice President and General Manager of La-Z-Boy Utah before retiring in 2006.

Of all his hobbies, fishing was his greatest passion. He loved spending time on his bass boat, fishing lakes throughout Missouri, North Carolina, Utah, Idaho and Canada.

Some of his favorite memories were made at Lake Powell with his family. He especially looked forward to the annual boys’ fishing trip, creating traditions and memories that he cherished.

In his earlier years, he enjoyed playing slow-pitch softball, basketball, and golfing many rounds at Skyway. Whether he was competing, fishing, or simply spending time with the people he loved, he enjoyed life fully.

In 1969, he married the love of his life, Paulette, and together they built a 57-year love story that truly is one for the books. Their marriage was a testament to commitment, devotion, laughter, perseverance, and choosing each other through every season of life. He was determined to stick around and make their 57th anniversary special, and that love remained one of the greatest stories of his life.

Above all his greatest pride and joy were his daughters, Amy Jo and Trisha Dawn. He loved being their dad and took great pride in the women they became. He was always there to support them, encourage them and celebrate their accomplishments, big or small. Later in life, he was blessed with two sons whom he adopted as his own. He loved them deeply and shared with them the lessons he had learned throughout his life, about love, family, responsibility, and, above all, always doing the right thing.

Along with the titles of husband and dad, his greatest joy was being called Paw. His grandchildren: Payton, Justus, Ali, Madee, Abby, and Maizy, brought him immense pride and happiness. He looked forward to watching them play ball and dance, spending time with them during visits, and connecting through FaceTime. He was proud of each of them and treasured every moment they shared.

He leaves behind not only a legacy of professional accomplishment, but a much greater legacy: a life built on honesty, integrity, keeping his word, loving his family, and making the people around him better.

Jerry is survived by his wife Paulette; daughters Amy (Dave) Clark, Trisha (Mark) Giles; grandkids Payton (Lana) Clark, Justus (Rachel) Clark, Ali & Madee Clark, Abby & Maizy Giles; and great-grandchildren Owen, Charlie, Callum and Hudson. Surviving sister Dawna; brother Randy (Mary) Hopkins.

He is preceded in death by his parents Jack Donald Garren and Betty Jane Bowman; brother James Dale Garren; along with his in-laws Junior & Elva Dean Hopkins.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, October 1, 2026, from 6-8 P.M. at Rudd Funeral Home- Tremonton (111 N 100 E- Tremonton).
