John Empey

Tremonton-Dad passed away in Tremonton due to injuries sustain in a fall in August. He was born in Challis, Idaho son of Alfred Lee Empey and Cloe Winder. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carol Gean Strebel Empey, his children John R. Sandberg, Rick L. Sandberg, Scott (Cindy) Bernsten, Shellie Empey, Sheila (Brad) Michalak, Richard (Jamie) Empey, Tracie Heinze, Shawna (Lynn) Spencer and two Great Grandsons he adopted Izik and Roman Howard. 24 Grand kids 16 Great Grandkids. He is preceded in death by his son John Jennings Empey (5/10/09), both parents and all siblings. Dad had a heart of gold and was the best dad, we love you dad. Dad could do anything he was a jack of all trades, no job was too big. He served in the US Navy and Utah National Guard. John owned and operated Empey Construction, Empey Transportation and he retired as a truck driver from Old Ephraim Trucking in Tremonton. His family would like to thank Dr. Jan-Erik Schow, McKay Dee ICU, Pioneer Rehab, Love Heath Care, the staff at Bear River Valley Hospital, EMTs and first responders on the Tremonton Ambulance, we are great full your help. Per dads wishes cremation under the direction of Rudd Funeral Home. Services will be held Wednesday Dec. 23 at 2:00pm at the Thatcher-Penrose Church 11475 W 10400 N Thatcher Utah. Any donations to offset funeral costs can be donated to Rudd Funeral Home.
