HONEYVILLE, UT – Kenneth Tinney, 96, passed away July 30, 2025 in Brigham City, UT. He was born July 1, 1929, in Corwin, OH, to Joseph Murrel and Edna Mae Cain Tinney.

He grew up on the family farm in Waynesville, Ohio. When he turned 18, he joined the Air Force and was stationed several places around Japan, and Africa, as well as the United States. While stationed in Utah, he met and fell in love with a waitress, Lois Hunsaker. He later moved to California, after returning home from his time in the service, where he reconnected with Lois and they married November 27, 1954. They later solemnized their marriage in the Los Angeles Temple.

He worked for Helm’s Bakery and B.F. Goodrich (for 20+ years), as well as Aerojet. He then worked as a custodian for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for almost 10 years before retiring.

After retiring in 1993, he and Lois moved to Honeyville, UT. They resided in “the pink” Hunsaker family home, until both their deaths.

He is survived by his three children: Donnell Manzo, Amy (Tony) Chesler and Kenneth Murrel (Cindy) Tinney; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; and two sisters: Wanda Worrell and Alice O’Dell.

Kenneth is preceded in death by: his wife, his parents, son Richard Tinney, grandson Phillip Tinney, two brothers: Robert and Willard, and three sisters: Leona Hutchens, Betty Waterhouse, and Mary Ann Conley.

A viewing will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025, from 11-11:45 A.M. at the Honeyville Chapel (2620 West 6980 North Honeyville, UT 84314). A graveside service with Military Honors will follow at Noon at the Honeyville Cemetery.
