Kyle Larkin

June 22, 1958 — January 2, 2018

Kyle Garn Larkin, 59, passed away January 2, 2018 at the McKay-dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah. He was born on June 22, 1958 to Glenn Garn & Thea Marie Tolman Larkin. After the unexpected passing of Thea, Althera Trost Larkin married Garn, and helped finish raising Kyle.

Kyle was raised in Snowville, where he attended Snowville Elementary School. He then went on to graduate from Bear River High School.  He also attended Weber College, and Ricks College. During his college years he was on the rodeo team, participating in calf and team roping events.

Kyle married the love of his life, Marquetta Anne Harvey on July 17, 1982 in the Logan LDS Temple. Following work, they traveled around for a while, living in Ten Sleep, Wyoming, Clark Fork, Idaho, Caldwell, Idaho, and Cheney, Washington. They eventually went full circle, and ended up back in Kyle’s home town of Snowville.

He worked for La-Z-Boy for many years in various departments. Most recently he was working for Post in the sanitation department.

Kyle is an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a faithful mission in Hong Kong China. He was currently serving as an accompanist in Elder’s Quorum.

He enjoyed many hobbies throughout his life, these included, roping (calf and team), riding horses, drawing, playing the piano, camping, telling jokes, and listening to good old country music.

Kyle is survived by his wife, Marquetta; father, Garn Larkin; mother, Althera Larkin; children: Kyra (Val) Bennett, and Sheila Larkin; nine siblings; grandchildren: Harley, Alaina, Eliona, and Aleeya, with another grandbaby boy on the way.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Thea Marie Tolman Larkin.

Funeral services for Kyle will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the Curlew Ward Chapel in Snowville, Utah (75 North 100 East) A viewing will be held prior to the funeral service from 10- 11:30 a.m. Interment in the Snowville Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the Curlew Ward Relief Society for their compassionate service, the Snowville Ambulance crew. Bear River Valley Hospital staff, The McKay Dee Hospital team, and the many family and friends that have shown their support at this time.
