On May 30, 2024, our loving Wife, Mother, Grandma, Sister, Aunt, Daughter, Cousin and Friend, Leslie Kay Christensen of Thatcher, Utah, returned to Jesus’ loving arms in Ogden, UT, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 21, 1967, in Oregon City, Oregon to James “Les” and Roxanna Kay.
Leslie grew up moving around the country with her family and finally settling in Park Valley, UT at the age of 11 years old. She enjoyed being rambunctious while running around in the wide open spaces with her brothers.
Leslie graduated from Bear River High School in 1985 and later that year, married the love of her life and best friend, Brad Porter Christensen on July 12, 1985.
Together, Leslie and Brad built the most beautiful relationship and were each other’s very best friends. One was rarely seen without the other. Their union brought forth five amazing children, Clayton, Trevor, Bailey, Rylan and Brittan.
At the young age of 14, Leslie lost her dad and this trial strengthened her determination and desire to go to nursing school, to be able to care for the ones she loved. After having her children, Leslie earned her nursing degree from Weber State University and continued to further her education throughout her entire career. She loved to learn and share her knowledge with those around her. She worked many roles during her 20 years at the Bear River Valley Hospital, and loved the relationship she made with her coworkers and second family. Most recently she was the Trauma Coordinator, which she excelled at and loved.
The trials she encountered in her own life encouraged her to impact countless lives with her love, wisdom, skill and SPUNK.
Leslie found joy in creating beautiful things through redoing furniture, decorating, gardening, crafting, and creating a welcoming environment in her home. She enjoyed making delicious meals that brought the family together.
Many family memories were made spending summers in Caribou Basin running cows, camping, fencing, swimming and exploring God’s beautiful creations on side-by-sides. She was a jokester and a prankster, which always made the family parties and the day to day work more fun.
Above all else, Leslie cherished her children and family. She had a very special relationship with each and every grandchild and touched their lives with her love and energy. Her legacy of unconditional love will be cherished by all who had the privilege of sharing in her life.
Leslie had a beautiful connection with the Lord and shared this passion with her children and grandchildren through family holidays, traditions and countless hours of prayer. Leslie showed Christlike kindness and compassion. Her selflessness and generosity knew no bounds, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of family and friends alike.
Leslie is survived by her loving husband, Brad Christensen, Mother, Roxanna and Bonus Dad, Steve Wagstaff. Kids: Clayton (Nikki), Trevor (Brittnee), Bailey (Timmy) Anderson, Rylan, Brittan (Lili). Grandkids: Hadlee, Kently, Casen, Rhett, Kendall, Colt, Briggs. Siblings: Rick (Robin), Broadus, Lonney (Marianna) Broadus, Rusty (Candy) Broadus, Brodie (Kate) Wagstaff, many loyal friends, along with her “adopted kids”, who became family.
Preceded in death by: Her father James “Les” Broadus, father and mother in-law Porter (Sherrie) Christensen, Grandparents Lee (Elsa) Reckard, James (Leona) Broadus.
Leslie’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her and her strength will inspire generations to come. She will never be forgotten.
