LuAnn (Funk) Read

LuAnn Funk Read, 71, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026, at her home in West Haven, Utah.

LuAnn was born on December 21, 1954, in Tremonton, Utah, to Andrew and Darlene Funk. She grew up in a loving family and carried that love with her throughout her life. She married Richard Coombs on June 29, 1973, and together they raised five children before later divorcing. On October 21, 2005, she married Paul Read in Garland, Utah, beginning a new chapter filled with companionship, travel, and shared adventures.

LuAnn spent most of her life in Garland, Utah, later living in Logan with Paul before making her home in West Haven. Wherever she lived, she built community and friendships that lasted a lifetime.

A 1973 graduate of Bear River High School, LuAnn later attended cosmetology school in Brigham City, Utah. She was a talented and driven businesswoman, owning and operating a craft shop in Garland for many years. She also ran a beauty shop from her home, welcoming countless friends and neighbors through her door. She later worked at Autoliv in Tremonton, Utah, where she eventually retired.

LuAnn was creative, hardworking, and gifted in all she did. She loved toll painting and crafting and found joy in teaching others through painting and craft classes. In her quieter moments, she enjoyed baking and sharing what she made with those she loved. Family and friends were the center of her world, and she especially cherished traveling and spending time with her husband.

LuAnn was a faithful and active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, strong work ethic, and the genuine care she showed to everyone she met. She was an incredible sister, mother, grandmother, and friend, and her love will continue to be felt by all who knew her.

LuAnn is survived by her children and their spouses: Sean E. Coombs of Logan; Kevin and Tessa Coombs of Roy; Christopher and Krestina Coombs of Millville; Michael and Carrie Coombs of Fielding; and Alison and Calvin Rodney of Logan. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her great joy.

She is also survived by her siblings and their spouses: Rodney and Sheryl Funk of West Point; Faye and Kees Terlouw of Garland; and JaNae and Todd Southwick of Farmington.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul Read; her parents, Andrew and Darlene Funk; and her nephew, Eric Funk.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at 11 A.M. Viewings will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, from 5-7 P.M. and prior to the service from 9:30-10:30 A.M. All services will be held at Rudd Funeral Home- Tremonton (111 N 100 E- Tremonton). Interment will follow the services at the Smithfield Cemetery. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the many doctors, nurses, caregivers, family members, and friends who cared for LuAnn with such love and compassion. Your kindness, prayers, and support brought comfort and strength and will always be remembered.
