Marie Ann (Spackman) Hudson

With hearts full of love, we announce the passing of Marie Ann Spackman Hudson, age 74, on August 20, 2025, in Plymouth, Utah, after a long and courageous battle with dementia. She was born September 6, 1950, and raised in Preston, Idaho, where she attended Central and Whitney Elementary schools and Preston High School.

On December 31, 1990, Marie married the love of her life, Michael Hudson. Together they made their home in Plymouth, Utah, where they opened their own business, Tractor and Equipment Services. Marie dedicated many years as the bookkeeper, supporting the business side-by-side with Mike. The two of them loved going on jeep and car rides around the valley, and Marie could never resist stopping for a good hamburger—anywhere, anytime.

Marie was a gifted artist, spending countless hours painting and drawing. She was also an avid reader and had a sweet tooth for Paydays, always with a Diet Coke close by. Beyond her hobbies, she was best known for her quick wit and contagious laugh. A day with Marie often ended with aching sides from laughing so hard—she had a way of making every moment brighter.

Above all, Marie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and loyal friend. She filled her family’s lives with love, humor, and joy, and her absence will be deeply felt.

Marie is survived by her loving husband, Michael Hudson (Plymouth); son Robert (Jennifer) Laursen of Tremonton; daughter Denise Callahan of Smithfield; daughter Gina (Lane) Jones of Hyde Park; and many beautiful grandchildren. She was welcomed on the other side by her parents, Edwin and Elna Spackman; siblings BarDee Hall, Gylde Spackman, Craig Spackman, Gloria Dockstader, LaRae Shrives, and Wendy West.

A graveside celebration of life will be held on Monday, August 25, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Mendon City Cemetery (25 North 200 West- Mendon). Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.ruddfuneralhome.com.
