Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend Mary passed away peacefully November 10, 2018. After a long battle with an illness that she bore with grace and perseverance, she returned home to the loving arms of her Lord and Savior. She was born in Ventura California, June 26, 1944 to Etta and Maurice Montgomery. Mary was the 5th daughter in her family, preceded by her sisters Dian, Etta May, Carol, and Duren, then Joy and Gene joined their family shortly thereafter. She dearly loved her family and her “sisters” and brother where lifelong friends as well.
Mary met and married the love of her life, Jesse Courter in 1963 and were sealed in the Los Angeles Temple. They had two sons (Mitchel, and Jeffery), and a daughter (Christina).
She found joy in her family, grandchildren, her flower garden, cooking, and ceramics.
She was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, embracing many callings. She served in Primary, Relief Society and YSA for many years, she loved name extraction work and family history. She always served selflessly, and had a deep, abiding faith and a strong testimony of Jesus Christ.
Mary is survived by her husband of 55 years Jesse, her children Mitchel, Jeffery (Jennifer), and Christina (Dale), 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters (Dian and Etta May).
We will miss her greatly; her wonderful influence was felt by all that knew her and will for generations.
