Obituary

Our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Michael Kelly Goade, passed peacefully on October 17, 2026, at the VA hospital in Tucson, Arizona, surrounded by the love of his family.

Michael was born March 13, 1947, in Granby, Missouri, the third son of Mark and Evelyn Kelly Goade. He was raised in Southwest Missouri and West Texas.

Mike enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1966 during the Vietnam War and proudly served for 22 ½ years. He was honorably discharged in 1988 as a Master Sergeant. For the majority of his military career he was a loadmaster, responsible for all cargo being loaded properly and equally on the plane and determining the amount of fuel needed. He proudly served in 27 countries which established his love of travel and he talked about, shared, or took others to the places he had visited.

While stationed at Dugway Army Proving Grounds, he found the love of his life, Sherie Firth. They married on February 19, 1983, and Mike’s three daughters completed their family, Kirsten Kelly (Brian Scott), Shelia Dawn, and Victoria (Bryce Jorgensen). Michael and Sherie are the proud grandparents of Marcus James Scott, Katrina Faith and Everest Ted and Adeline Victoria Jorgensen.

Mike enjoyed traveling, golfing, fishing and hunting. Planning and executing activities, trips and projects was his forte and his daughters inherited those traits.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Charles and Sherie’s parents LeRoy and Norma Jean Firth. He is survived by his wife Sherie, his daughters and sons-in-law, his grandchildren, his sister-in-law Joan, his brother Jim and many loving family members.

Services will be held Saturday, November 7, 2026, with a viewing from 9:30a to 10:45a and the funeral following at 11:00a. All services will be held at Rudd Funeral Home 111 North 100 East Tremonton, Utah. Michael will be laid to rest at the Valley View Cemetery in Bothwell, Utah, where military honors will be accorded.

In lieu of flowers, please honor Mike by showing an extra kindness to your family, and thanking a Veteran.
