Myrna Lyn Andersen Kent, 70, fun-loving mother, wife, grandma, great-grandma, sister, aunt and friend passed away surrounded by her family on Monday, December 8, 2025, in Twin Falls, Idaho.
Myrna was born on February 16, 1955, to Stan and Bernice Andersen in Tremonton, Utah. From a young age she cherished time with her family and friends. She had a close-knit group of friends who were inseparable—they often joked that if there had been gangs back then, they would have been one. Myrna brought fun and laughter wherever she went and to everyone she was with.
Just before starting 7th grade, Myrna was diagnosed with rheumatic fever, which caused her to miss an entire year of school. Many of her friends would ride their bikes past her bedroom window to visit and chat. Despite her health challenges, Myrna approached life with resilience, optimism, and joy. She graduated from Bear River High School in 1973 and later attended beauty school, continuing to share her warmth and light with everyone around her.
On August 3, 1973, Myrna married her high school sweetheart Jeff Kent in Tremonton, Utah. They were later sealed in the Ogden LDS Temple and settled on her grandparents’ farm, creating a fun and loving home with many cherished memories.
Myrna was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and lovingly served in many ward callings alongside some of her most treasured friends.
Myrna loved being surrounded by her family, especially her grandkids and great-grandkids. She found joy in traveling—whether it was taking rides with Jeff, enjoying girls’ trips, or vacationing with the whole family. She loved watching her kids and grandkids play sports and was always their biggest fan. Myrna enjoyed quiet evenings crocheting while watching Hallmark movies with Jeff and of course cheering on her Kansas City Chiefs whenever they played.
Myrna ran a daycare in her home and loved having those sweet children alongside her own. They quickly became like family to her, forming bonds and memories that lasted a lifetime. Many of those relationships remained strong and meaningful throughout her life.
Once her own children were all in school, Myrna began working at Alice C. Harris Intermediate School, where she continued to share her love, patience, and compassion with the many children she had the privilege to serve.
She is survived by her husband; daughters, Angie (Travis) Johnsen, Cami (Marc) Farnworth, Jeniece (Justin) Scott, and Tiffany (Justin) Wakley, daughter-in-law Jamie Richards Kent; grandchildren Tayler, Makayden (Meg), and Kenzie Kent, Khloe Johnsen, Jordan Farnworth, Dawson and Savannah Scott, Tucker (Rylie), Boston, and Brynlee Wakley; great-grandchildren; Berkley Ryan Kent and Nova Rae Wakley.
She is preceded in death by her son Ryan Jeffry Kent, grandson Kent Jeffry Johnsen; parents Stan and Bernice Andersen, in-laws Dan and Jeanine Kent and sister Anita Badgett.
