Onetta (Henderson) Howell

Onetta Henderson Howell, 89, loving wife, mother, and grandmother passed away Sunday, September 7th, 2025, in Brigham City, Utah. She was born on November 1st, 1935, in Pocatello, Idaho to Ross and Ethel Smith Henderson, the youngest of four children.

She was raised on the family farm in Robin, Idaho where she learned the value of hard work. She married Larry Lee Howell in the house where she lived for over sixty years in Portage, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.

She was an avid bowler and won many trophies which she proudly kept in a cedar chest that her father built. She retired from Box Elder County School District after driving school bus for many years. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in numerous callings including a full time senior mission with her husband Larry at the London England Hyde Park Family Search Center.

Onetta was preceded in death by her husband Larry Lee Howell, Ronald Henderson Williams (Son), Jacqueline Williams Morris (Daughter), and Dalynn Williams Thomas (Granddaughter).

She is survived by her children Timothy (Cynthia) Williams, Venna Lee (Bret) Flint, Larry L. (Peggy) Howell, Vickie Anderson, and Yvonne Thompson, twenty-three grandchildren, fifty-seven greatgrandchildren, and nine great greatgrandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 20th, at the Portage Utah Ward LDS Chapel, 8910 W 25800 N- Portage, UT, at 11:00 A.M. Viewings will be held on Friday, September 19th, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Rudd Funeral Home- Tremonton, 111 N 100 E, Tremonton, UT, and from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. prior to the service at the chapel in Portage.
