Orvin E. Pierson, age 89, passed away on January 9, 2026, in Fielding, Utah. He was born on September 18, 1936, in Plymouth, Utah, to George Earl and Grace Rudd Pierson.
On June 28, 1958, Orvin married Esta Jones Pierson in Fielding, Utah. Their life together was marked by love and service, building a strong partnership that lasted until her passing on April 21, 2025.
Throughout his lifetime, Orvin resided in Plymouth and Fielding, Utah, and was a graduate of Bear River High School, class of 1954. He dedicated his professional life to Thiokol, where he worked as a Manufacturing Engineer until his retirement in 1994.
Orvin had a passion for sports, originally enjoying basketball before discovering a love for golf, where he proudly achieved five holes-in-one over the years, that he often boasted about. In later years, he and Esta found joy in spending the winters in St. George and summers in Star Valley, Wyoming. Together, they cherished their church callings, the upbringing of their family, and the friendships formed within their community. Reflecting on his life, Orvin often expressed that he wondered how it could have been any better.
A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Orvin served as a counselor in two bishoprics and performed a service mission alongside Esta.
Orvin is survived by his children: Randy (Tiffinee), Lori (Scott), and Eric (Peggy). His legacy lives on through his 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, as well as his sister Sonja Woodruff and brother Russell Pierson.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Esta, his parents, sisters Wilma (Boyd) Taylor and Sharon (Mel) Evans, brother Dr. Blaine R. (Carolyn) Pierson, granddaughter Hannah Ruby Pierson, and great-granddaughter Freya Vi Hancey.
