Rawlin Lester Andersen (bull rider), a beloved member of his community, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2025, in Salt Lake City, Utah, at the age of 83. Born on January 5, 1942, in Brigham City, Utah, Rawlin was the son of Lester and Ruby Andersen.
On September 4, 1964, Rawlin married Sandy Price in Tremonton, Utah, and together they built a life filled with love and devotion until Sandy’s passing on March 14, 2014.
A lifelong resident of Bear River City, Utah, Rawlin graduated from Bear River High School in 1960. He dedicated his career to various pursuits, including cowboying, farming and a long tenure at Thiokol, where he worked diligently for 40 years before retiring in 2003. Throughout his career, Rawlin was recognized with numerous safety awards, reflecting his commitment to excellence and the safety of those around him.
In addition to his professional endeavors, Rawlin proudly served in the National Guard. He found joy in cowboy life, farming, and tinkering, but his greatest passion was his family. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and actively participated in community service as a member of the Box Elder Sheriff’s Posse, Town Board, and Acme Water.
Rawlin is survived by his children: Susie (Daren) Scott, Cindy Andersen, Jenny (Pete) Olson, and Lloyd (RaeAnn) Bott; along with seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind Shane Butler and a very special nephew, Luke Andersen; his brother, Jim Andersen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Sandy.
Funeral services for Rawlin will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 11 A.M., with viewings on Thursday, June 12, from 6-8 P.M. and prior to the service from 9-10:30 A.M. All services will take place at the Bear River City Church (5870 N 4700 W - Bear River City). The service will be livestreamed for those unable to attend in person and can be accessed below. Interment will follow at the Bear River City Cemetery.
Family & friends are invited to brand Rawlin’s casket at his house Wednesday evening, June 11, from 5-7 P.M.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Bear River Valley Hospital, McKay Dee Hospital, and the University of Utah Hospital for their exceptional care and support.
Rawlin Lester Andersen will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
