Robert Rex Jensen passed away peacefully on August 6, 2024, leaving a legacy of love and dedication. A cherished husband, father, and friend, Robert was known for his strong values, kindness, leadership, and commitment to helping others. His life was a testament to the principles he held dear, and his memory will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Bob was born on August 14, 1943 in Richfield, Utah to Marion Rex Jensen and Emily Roberts. He was blessed to be a sibling to DeAnn, Richard, and Mike. At age 11, his family moved to Garland, Utah, where he thrived as a member of the Future Farmers of America and the high school basketball team. He graduated from Bear River High School in 1961 and served as the Utah FFA State President. In 1962, he was called to be a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to serve in the Central British Mission.

Bob pursued his passion for agriculture at Utah State University, where he met the love of his life, Sharon Dunkley. They married on March 18, 1966 in the Logan Utah Temple. After earning his bachelor's degree in 1967, he began his teaching career at Clearfield High School, sharing his love for agriculture with his FFA students. In 1973, he received his Master of Science Degree from Utah State University. He later returned to his roots, teaching at Bear River High School, and eventually became the Principal and Vocational Director for the Box Elder School District.

A devoted community member and church leader, Bob served as Bishop of the Garland 1st Ward from 1982 to 1985 and as Stake President of the Garland Utah Stake from 1985 to 1996. His dedication to his faith and community left an everlasting mark on all who knew him, and blessed the members of his family.

In retirement, Bob enjoyed camping, woodworking, and helping his grandchildren prepare their livestock for the county fair. Bob and Sharon cherished their quick getaways with his brother Mike and sister-in-law Linda, creating countless joyful memories on the road. Bob lived life to the fullest, always seeking fun and adventure.

Robert is survived by his wife Sharon, daughters; Stephanie, Janette (Paul), and sons; Ryan (Becky) and Matt. Seven grandchildren; Janessa (Wyatt), Ryker (Adri), Jaden (Whitney), Bryken (Mahala), MaKenna, Kelby, Briggs. Four great grandchildren; Jexlee, Brixton, Wrenlee, Adelaide. He is also survived by his brothers; Mike (Linda) Jensen, and Richard (Carol) Jensen.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and sister; DeAnn Clark.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 12, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Garland Tabernacle (140 W. Factory St., Garland, UT). Viewings will be held Sunday, August 11, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Rudd Funeral Home-Tremonton (111 N 100 E, Tremonton, UT), and there will be an additional viewing prior to the service at the Garland Tabernacle from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. The funeral will be livestreamed under Robert’s obituary page at www.ruddfuneralhome.com. The interment will be at the Garland Utah Cemetery.
