Rosalie Shaw Guillot passed away peacefully on November 22, 2023, at the age of 83. She was born in Salt Lake City, UT on 5th of November 1940 to Wayne Labrum Shaw and Ellen Ovella Newman Shaw. She was the third child of five children. She grew up in Holladay, UT.
After graduating from Olympus High School in 1959 she attended BYU where she met David G. Guillot whom she married on Sept. 7, 1962, in the Logan LDS Temple. She graduated from BYU a year later with a BS degree in Teaching and Home Economics. Afterwards she taught beginning clothing construction classes at St. Francis High School and Diet Therapy at the Provo Vocational School for 2 years in Provo.
When David graduated with a PhD in chemistry, David took a job in Wayne N.J. where both Rosalie and David lived a while before buying a home and moving to Pequannock, NJ. where they lived for 7 years. They returned to Utah and lived in Sandy for 3 years before moving to Tremonton where they raised two children, L. Allen Guillot and Dari Ann Guillot Ramsdell.
A year after David retired, Rosalie and David served an 18-month mission (Oct 2007 – Apr 2009) in the Leeds England Mission. There they lived and served in Bradford, Bingley and Sunderland, England (Rosalie’s father served his mission in 1926 in the same area).
Rosalie served as an Ordinance Worker in the Logan LDS Temple and later in the newly constructed Brigham City Temple along with her husband David.
Rosalie was blessed to be a stay-at-home mother. She loved music and sang in ward choirs, played the piano and organ. She loved to sew clothes for herself and made many quilts. She loved to serve others. She served 13 years doing extraction. She was faithful in serving in many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ her Savior and believed in Joseph Smith and all the prophets.
Her children are: Allen Guillot married to Heather Martin who have three children: Katelyn Taylor Guillot married to Will Larsen, Kristy Shawna Guillot and Cameron David Guillot: Dari Ann G. Ramsdell married to Kristopher Reo Ramsdell who have four children: Maxwell Reo married to Clarissa, Annalie Saige married to Caeden Miller, Davis Karl Ramsdell and Everett Nate Ramsdell.
She is survived by her husband to whom she was married on earth for 61 years according to the eternal laws of heaven. She is also survived by her two children, 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and one brother LeRoy and one sister Natalie.
Her parents and two brothers, Gordon and Vern Shaw, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 4, 2023 at 11 A.M. at the Tremonton South Stake Center (1150 S Tremont St, Tremonton). Viewings will be held on Sunday, December 3, 2023 from 5-7 P.M. at Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home and prior to the service at the church from 9:30-10:30 A.M. Interment will be held at the Riverside Cemetery. The service will be livestreamed and may be accessed below.
