Sandra Rodas

July 31, 1948 — November 4, 2017

Sandra Kim Seliger Rodas, 69, of Warrenton, died peacefully at home on November 4, 2017 after a battle with cancer.  She was born in Ogden, Utah on July 31, 1948, a daughter of William and Bonnie (Brian) Seliger.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons; Barton James Rodas (Cheri) and Nathan William Rodas and a brother, William Kurt Seliger.

She is survived by her son, Harry Axel Rodas (Kristie), her daughter, Belen K.Rodas (Damien); siblings, Lisa Jan South (Stanley), Kyle Caruthers (Timothy), Pamela G. Olschewski (Jared), Barton John Seliger  (Krissana) and Tracy Gean Armstrong (Robert);  nine grandchildren, Shaylee (Ethan), Kira, Levi, Chase, John (Sara), Peter, Ruth, Miriam and Paige and a great-granddaughter, Everett.

Sandy was a life long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the church in many capacities for her entire life. In addition to her church service, she spent much of her life trying to help others. She was actively involved in feeding homeless people for years. She spent her life seeking to live her life as Jesus taught, and was an example of charity and selfless service her entire life.

Despite a life full of heavy burdens and sorrows, Sandy always maintained a positive outlook, had an infectious smile and taught everyone to find the joy in every day despite the trials that may seem to be so difficult in the moment.

Sandy loved to read and often was reading several books at the same time. She instilled her love of books in her children and grandchildren. She loved her grandchildren and being a grandmother was one of her favorite jobs. To each of her grandchildren she would always say, “You are my favorite”.

Sandy was one of 7 children and had siblings who said, “Sandy was the best of us."

She was greatly loved by all who knew her and she will be missed for her example of Christ like service, kindness and forgiving attitude. She was also a woman of strong convictions who voiced her beliefs and held her ground on religious, social and political issues. Her balance of sweetness and feistiness was endearing and admirable.

The family will receive friends at a viewing on Monday, November 13, from 10-10:45 a.m. at Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home (111 N. 100 E. - Tremonton, UT 84337), followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m.
