Sara Ann Adams (née Gunnell), our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed calmly on Monday the 15th of June.
Sara was born in Malad, Idaho and lived briefly in Arizona before settling in Ogden, Utah, where she met the love of her life—her sweetheart and the boy-next-door, Kirt—at age seven. Kirt and Sara spent 62 wonderful years together and were truly a match made in heaven.
Sara’s greatest joy was spending time with (and feeding) her family. She was known as quite the hostess, and she loved nothing more than a full house and creating lasting memories with those she loved.
Sara enjoyed traveling, especially across the Pacific Northwest. She had many talents, including playing the violin like a virtuoso and meticulously hand stitching her famous flannel blankets, which became cherished gifts to all those lucky enough to receive one. She spent many years working in the banking profession, including management positions in the collections division. Sara had countless wonderful attributes, but her greatest one was her dedication to her family and to making each person feel seen and “treasured beyond measure.” Her family will forever hold fond memories of road trips, late-night card games, family dinners, and shopping sprees.
Sara was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and she loved the Lord and treasured serving the small children in Primary.
Sara is survived by her beloved husband, Kirt, and three sons and three daughters-in-law—Matthew and Susan, Mark and Marla, and Michael and Jenny—as well as her eight beloved grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Sara was dearly loved, and her family takes comfort in knowing that she has been reunited with family in heaven.
Love you most, Sweetheart. -Kirt
