Steven James Cook

Steven James Cook has graduated to life's next adventure. Born on January 21, 1974, in Tooele, Utah, to Fred Steven Cook and Dorthea Elvona Smith Cook.

 In his early years, he enjoyed life in Tooele, participating in Cub Scouts, 4-H, and school activities. As a teen, he lived in Logan, Utah, and later moved to Kayenta, Arizona, where his mother taught school. He spent quite a bit of high school also living in Tooele with his dad. 

He gained a love and skill for programming whatever he could since his first experience with a Commodore 64 when he was about nine. (He was very proud of that fact).

Steve joined the Navy, where he worked in ship maintenance and served during the first Gulf War. He began his IT career by working as a computer technician for Packard Bell. In his spare time, he would build computers for himself and others. He also taught himself numerous computer programming languages.

He graduated from Utah College of Massage Therapy in 2002.

He became a proficient web developer and spent the bulk of his career writing web and mobile phone applications.

He became a father in 2003, when his son Dallas was born. 

He traveled and settled in Nashville, Tennessee, where he eventually met the love of his life, Paige, and had two children, Griffin and Oliver.

He was inspired after the birth of Griffin to create a business to sell Griffin Sauce. After losing the recipe, he had been on the quest of creating an even better recipe, cooking batches of hot sauce for some friends, the HOTTER the better. One friend said he didn't let on to Steve that he was truly addicted to the stuff. He was passionate about his hot sauce, making and sharing it with everyone, or at least those brave enough. 

Steve was brilliant, friendly, and kind, and for these, he will be remembered by many. He loved playing games, especially Dungeons and Dragons. He and his friends would spend hours creating their own campaigns/adventures in the Dungeons and Dragons format. He also had started building worlds and had plans for writing a book. He created a fun card game that he played with his family, "The Devil Can't Lie". 

Steven is preceded in death by his mother Dorthea, sister Jennifer Ann Cook, Grandparents Alvin and Mary Cook and also Robert and Elva Smith.

Steven leaves behind his father Fred Steven (Jillene) Cook, 3 sons Dallas, Griffin, and Oliver. His sister Michele Cook Lewis, friend who has been like a brother Michael Lance Allen, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
