Vida Black Godfrey, age 74, died on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at home, in Fielding, Utah. She was born June 25, 1951 in Logan, Utah, the daughter of Clyde C. and Reta Nelson Black.

After marriage, Vida moved to the home they purchased in Tremonton. Together they bought his family farm in Fielding; where they built a home and raised their family. She spent the remainder of her life working alongside her husband and children in the dairy business they built. They were an example of hard work and teamwork.

She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and serving others. She was blessed with a keen mind and retained memories. She spent hours doing family history and writing spiritual memories for her posterity.

Vida was a faithful, devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a young woman she served in the Hill Cumorah Pageant. Most of her service was in leadership roles working with the children and youth. She served in Scouting, 4-H, Sunday School and as a primary teacher, as well as a member of ward and stake primary presidencies. In her retirement years she continued serving together with her husband in the family history center, Brigham City Temple laundry, and security at the Nauvoo Pageant.

Surviving are her husband of Fielding, three sons and two daughters, Lex (Rachelle) Godfrey – Rigby, Idaho; Malea (Todd) Heward – Shirley Basin, Wyoming; Janeal Christensen – Washington, Utah; Lynn (Jessica) Godfrey – Eden, Idaho; and Loral (Leslie) Godfrey – Richmond, Utah.
