William Fred Simmons, age 77, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2026, in Logan, Utah. Born on January 10, 1949, in Jackson, Mississippi, he was the beloved son of Hillman Simmons and Mildred Minton.
Bill married Anita Bowles on August 16, 1974, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Throughout his life, he resided in several states, including Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, and South Carolina. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University (LSU).
Bill dedicated a significant part of his career as a sales manager in the lumber industry. He also honorably served his country in the Navy as a Seawolf from 1967 to 1971, attaining the rank of E4. During his service, he was awarded numerous medals, including the Navy Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Air Medal Bronze Star, National Defense Service Medal, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. William treasured his family and faith.
He is survived by his wife Anita; his son John Simmons; daughters Jenifer Koyle, Lauren Tree, Christina Stewart, and Allison Redd; sons-in-law Jeron Tree, Bryan Stewart, and Ammon Redd; daughter-in- law Tracey Simmons along with sixteen cherished grandchildren.
A visitation to honor Bill’s memory will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, from 3:00 to 3:45 p.m. at the Beaver Dam Church (16025 N Beaver Dam Rd- Collinston), followed by a graveside service at 4:00 p.m. at Beaver Dam Cemetery (N 1200 W- Utah). Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating his life.
